Some clinics charge a total of up to £3000 for Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) depending on the size of the area needing treatment. That is very expensive if you ask me.

At this stage your hairline is receding slightly around the temples. You might also experience thinning around the temples and the skin is starting to show through.

 

We cover the skin showing through around the hairline and temples therefore bringing the hair density back. In most cases you can keep your hair long.

Norwood Scale 3 Micropigmentation

Number of sessions: 1-2

Stage 3 shows more significant thinning and in some cases balding. The hairline is receding even more at the temples and hair is also falling out at the crown/vertex. 

 

If the affected areas are still sparsely covered with hair we can add SMP density without the need to shave your hair.

Norwood Scale 4 Micropigmentation

In stage 4 the hairline recession is more severe and you experience balding at the crown/vertex. A band of hair connects the sides. Adding the appearance of hair density would not work in those areas.

 

At this point we suggest that you shave or buzz cut your hair. We fill in the crown and restore your hairline. This is the only way that hair micropigmentation will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your hair.

In stage 5 the hair loss areas expand even more. The hair band separating the 2 balding areas is getting thinner.

In stage 6 the balding crown area merges with the balding temples. The hair band connecting the sides is almost nonexistent.

In stage 7 on the Norwood scale, the top is fully bald and the sides are also quite low. The area that needs to be covered with Scalp Micropigmentation is quite large, but still doable.

As SMP artists, our goal is to create a natural-looking result that blends seamlessly with our client’s existing hair. When camouflaging an FUE transplant scar with micro hair pigmentation, I start by analyzing the scar and surrounding hair to determine the best pigment color and placement. I use digital machine to carefully deposit small dots of pigment into the scar, creating the appearance of hair follicles.
 
I then work to blend the dots into the surrounding hair, carefully adjusting the density and placement to create a realistic result. The process is typically completed in multiple sessions, with each session building upon the previous one to create a seamless, natural-looking result.

FUT Transplant Scar Repair Micropigmentation

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a hair restoration technique that involves removing a strip of scalp from the donor area and transplanting individual follicular units into the recipient area. The resulting scar is usually a thin, linear scar on the back of the scalp, which can be easily hidden by surrounding hair, but may become more visible in some cases due to poor healing or tension on the wound during the healing process.
 
SMP is the most effective method to camouflage FUT scars. It works regardless of your skin or hair colour, but bear in mind that the scar area might still be slightly visible even after micropigmentation.
