Hygiene is paramount at ScalpMates. All equipment is sterilized after every client. I open a fresh, sterile 0.22mm 3RL needle cartridge in front of you, pour ink into a brand-new cup, and wear fresh nitrile gloves. During treatment, I clean the scalp with simple water baby wipes to avoid irritating fresh skin.

For his Asian, medium brown skin (Fitzpatrick type 4), I mixed a custom darker shade of Pure Organic Nocturnal Ink. Because organic carbon ink contains zero heavy metals, it won’t discolor or turn blue or green over time.

Because SMP is flat and real hair is 3D, keeping side stubble shaved below 0.5mm is essential for maintaining realism. Using an electric foil shaver every 2 to 3 days takes just a few minutes and ensures a continuous, natural shaved head appearance under bright lights.

Transparent Cost Breakdown: No Hidden Fees

For a Norwood 6 treatment covering the top, balding crown, and frontal hairline, the price in 2026 is £1,125 total (£375 per session across 3 sessions). You pay as you go after each appointment via bank transfer or cash. I don’t force clients into pushy finance contracts, nor guilt trip you into paying for all 3 sessions. If you’re happy with the result of 1 or 2 sessions, then I’ll take that as a massive compliment!

I don’t offer cash or student discounts to keep things fair for everyone, but I do pay a 10% commission on every session paid by someone you refer. Under my Price Promise Guarantee, any touch-ups needed after 3 sessions or within the first year are completely free. Future top-ups are only needed every 2 to 4 years and usually cost less than initial packages,

If the top up requires a FULL session (normally around the 3-4 yrs mark), then the price will be up to the initial session price (in this case £375)
